Russia Says It Captured Ukrainian Settlement in Kharkiv Region
Russian Defense Ministry officials declared via Telegram that military forces had secured Chuhunivka, a village located within the Kupiansk district of northeastern Kharkiv—a zone that has witnessed relentless fighting throughout the nearly four-year conflict.
The settlement sits merely 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) from Butyrki, a village across the frontier in Russia's Belgorod region, underscoring the proximity of active combat to Russian territory.
Kyiv has issued no response to Moscow's assertion, and battlefield claims remain impossible to verify independently amid the fog of war that continues to envelope the region as the conflict nears its fourth anniversary later this month.
