Russia reports seizing two additional villages in Zaporizhzhia

(MENAFN) Russia asserted on Sunday that its troops had seized two additional locations in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, according to official statements.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its units had taken control of Rivnopillia, a settlement roughly 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) north of Huliaipole, an area viewed as a strategic point along the southeastern frontline.

The ministry also stated that its forces had advanced into the village of Mala Tokmachka, situated about 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) east of Orikhiv, another significant hotspot in the region.

Earlier in the day, Ukraine’s General Staff said that Russian troops had carried out 12 assaults near Huliaipole and an additional five near Orikhiv within the previous 24 hours.

Ukrainian officials have not yet responded to Moscow’s assertions, and independent confirmation remains challenging amid the ongoing conflict.
