Russia Says It Captured Two Additional Ukrainian Villages

(MENAFN) Russia announced on Wednesday that its military has taken control of two additional villages in Ukraine, marking the latest developments in the ongoing conflict.

In a statement, the Defense Ministry said the settlements of Sadove in the Kharkiv region and Krasnogirske in the Zaporizhzhia region were captured following operations by the Vostok (East) and Zapad (West) groups of forces.

The ministry also reported intense overnight clashes, stating that Ukrainian air raids were repelled, with eight guided aviation bombs, three HIMARS rockets and 192 drones shot down.

Ukraine did not immediately respond to the claims, and independent verification remains difficult due to the continuing hostilities in the area. Analysts warn that information from the frontlines is often hard to confirm amid the rapidly evolving battlefield conditions.

The capture of these villages, if verified, would represent a further advance by Russian forces in strategic areas of eastern and southern Ukraine, where fighting has intensified in recent weeks.
